Neighborhood: The center core of North Plains is less than a mile from the highway exit and retains the charm of a suburban farm community. This is where the North Plains Senior Plaza is located, between the residential and business district. The Plaza is located off the main street and sheltered from much of the business activity. The North Plains Post Office is a full-fledged postal service business and one of their routes provides mail delivery to the front of the apartment complex. However, private box services are available for a small fee. The Post Office is located two blocks away. The North Plains City Offices (www.northplains.org) and the North Plains Public Library (www.nplibrary.org) are all within a 2-block walking distance of North Plains Senior Plaza. The Public Library is a member of the Washington County Cooperative Library Services which allows you to order books from any library within the County. There are two churches within a 1/2 mile of the apartment complex: St. Edward's Catholic Church www.stedwardnp.org North Plains Christian Church www.northplainschristianchurch.org The North Plains Elementary School directly serves children of grades Kindergarten through 6 from the city and outlying rural area. The older children attend the junior and high schools located in Hillsboro, six miles away. While the population of North Plains is just over 2,000, it is a vibrant, active community wellsupported by the North Plains Area Chamber of Commerce (www.northplainschamber.org ).
